A Cross-Training Program for High Performance Leadership

The Gym for Intellectual Fitness (TGIF) is a unique and comprehensive development regimen designed to build and hone the foundations of high performance leadership. TGIF helps leaders strengthen the personal attributes that are essential for their professional success: mental capacity (IQ), emotional intelligence (EQ) and physical well being (PQ).

Description: TGIF is highly interactive and engaging, building on the combined power of group dynamics, one-on-one coaching and personal reflection. It comprises:

a series of small group coaching sessions, or workouts, that shapes the “muscles” for high performance leadership
individual coaching sessions to zero in on key areas of personal development and growth
assessments to provide insights and feedback
individual activities and assignments, completed between sessions, to reinforce and enhance skill development
metrics to evaluate professional and personal impact
ongoing support and feedback to maintain direction and momentum.

Timing and Duration: The program is conducted over a four-month period, incorporating spaced repetition as a key enabler of skill development and affording a minimal impact on normal business activities. The series program begins on Friday, January 28 and concludes Friday, May 6, 2005. See page 4 for a complete program schedule.

Target Audience: Participants are current or aspiring leaders, such as front-line supervisors or mid-level managers who desire to increase their level of personal effectiveness and impact.

High potential or high risk individuals are ideally suited for participation, as this program can be a powerful intervention that equips them – and their teams – for long-term success.

Group Size: TGIF is conducted with a maximum of 12 participants representing a variety of industries, functional responsibilities and company cultures. This ensures that individual attention and support are provided and affords an intimate setting for knowledge transfer, information exchange and relationship building.

Benefits and Outcomes: With full participation, improvements may be realized in one or more of the following areas of high performance leadership:

greater self awareness, confidence and control
increased awareness and appreciation of the differences in others
improved ability to communicate, collaborate and motivate
enhanced ability to manage change and conflict
improved team building and coaching skills
development and implementation of a servant leader mindset.

A pre- and post-assessment is conducted to benchmark and measure key performance indicators. This enables the measurement of progress and the identification of specific areas of improvement for continued focus and development.

Investment: The standard investment is $2,495 per participant and includes the deliverables described below. Early registration affords savings of 20 to 32 percent. And, our performance guarantee ensures your complete satisfaction or the program fee is fully refunded.

Here’s a Preview of the TGIF High Performance Leadership Workout Series.

Super-Charge Your Batteries In this kick-off session, you begin your workout by assessing your “power quotient” and setting expectations and desired outcomes for the TGIF series. In an interactive session, you are provided with simple nutritional, lifestyle and rejuvenation techniques that will enable you to quickly achieve greater balance, energy and resilience.

Put the Power of Your Personality to Work If you don’t understand yourself, how can you possibly relate to other people? This workout introduces a powerful self-awareness tool that enables you to discover why you think, feel and behave the way you do. You will learn how to best put your natural preferences into practical use when working with others. You will also learn how to understand and appreciate their differences. Finally, you will develop strategies to maximize your strengths and enhance areas where personal improvements are desired to enhance your relationships with staff members, co-workers and others with whom you interact.

Condition Your Mind for High Performance Did you realize the mind works as a super-computer processing input and output on a continual basis? By understanding how it processes information, you can better control your thoughts, react more positively and maintain a high performance state of mind. In this workout, you will discover the secrets of motivation, how to prevent procrastination, ways to change how you feel in an instant and how you can control your responses to seemingly negative situations. You will engage in an exercise to clarify the values and beliefs that drive your decision-making process. With these insights, you can better manage your day – even when dealing with difficult people or situations – and inspire those around you to do the same.

Power Talk Your Way to Success This workout develops and hones your communication style by revealing the impact of language – what you say, how you say it and what you don’t say – in influencing others and building relationships. It provides strategies for effective communications that build esteem and increase impact. You will understand the components of communication and learn ways to improve your effectiveness. This will comprise the use of “power” words, honing your listening skills and implementing techniques to build rapport.

Power Play – Unleash Your Creative Genius Creativity is not a skill or gift reserved for those with artistic talents. It is the ability to apply innovative or “out of the box” approaches to solving every day problems. How then do you develop your creative genius? This workout introduces strategies and techniques that expand traditional thought processes and open doors for new ideas to be generated. By opening your mind to new possibilities, the creative juices – that are the mother of invention – can flow. Unleashing this capability will enhance your ability to maintain a positive attitude in otherwise stressful situations and lead others to your way of thinking.

These topics are incorporated into the personal coaching series.

Create Your Future Now You will be guided through a process of clarifying what you want, why you want it and how to get it. Perhaps you dream of advancement or learning a new skill – using a step-by-step approach, you will set a course toward achievement. The good news is that once you work through the process, you will find achievement is much easier and will likely come more quickly.

Find Passion and Purpose at Work We spend most of our waking hours at work – yet job satisfaction is approximately 50 percent. This means that half of the people at work wish they were somewhere else. Is this the make-up of a high performance workforce? Purpose aligns personal talents and passion with what needs to be done so that you have a clear sense of how and where you can best contribute. Work days are driven by a strong, empowering sense of meaning and importance. Through personal coaching and reflection, you will be challenged to find what drives, challenges and fulfills you … to see your life and career in new and meaningful ways. A “must” for true high performance leadership to be achieved!
